This and That

     I have been attempting to put these pictures up all weekend, but I just haven't had a chance!  We finished up our Apple Theme and celebrated Columbus Day.  We have a short week this week.  I really wish we didn't because I love learning about Scarecrows and Pumpkins!  Fall is my favorite time of year!

Working on our stained glass apples.  I love these!  

I love how they look in the window.  We are a little late getting these up, so we may not put our pumpkins up this year.

Popcorn word trees-  They glued a tree with leaves down on construction paper.  Then they had to copy the ten popcorn words that we've learned on to their leaves.

Listening Center- They listened to When the Leaf Blew In and Clifford's Apple Picking Day

Science Center- Sink or Float Columbus Ships

We made Ice Cream Floats!  First, we predicted whether or not the ice cream would float or sink.  Then we put the ice cream in the cup.

We poured the Coke in and waited to see what the ice cream would do.

It floated!

Yummy!

Pete Rocking in His School Shoes

     Oh my goodness!  Pete the Cat was a HUGE, HUGE, hit.  They LOVE this story!  They wanted me to read it over and over and over again! :0  I'm in the process of making a class book with our first day of school adventure.  I still need to take a few pictures and finish typing everything up.  I'm checking to see what the copyright rule is before I put up our clues on the blog for our walk, so for now, I will give a different version. Pete the Cat lost his shoes, so we had to try to find them.  When we found his shoe we sang our little song.

Pete the Cat lost his pink shoe.  He was listening to a Bible story and singing a song about Jesus.  Where could it be?

Pete the Cat lost his yellow shoe when he was talking to a lady who always has  a smile on her face and was sitting in the office up front.  Where could the yellow shoe be?

Pete the Cat lost his red shoe when he was getting out of the car this morning.  Then he stopped by the desk to play on the computer.  Who could he have lost his shoe with?

It was raining on the first day of school, so we improvised!

Pete the Cat was playing in the construction paper, glue sticks, and scissors.  When he came out, he had lost his orange shoe!  Where do you think he might be?
